Yoga for Ecological Grief
Transform sorrow for the world into compassionate action…

ON-DEMAND COURSE
An Embodied Practice for a Planet in Transition
Across the world, many of us feel a quiet ache—the grief of living through climate crisis, mass extinction, social injustice, and the uncertainty of what comes next. Yoga for Ecological Grief is a spacious, trauma-conscious program that invites you to move with this truth rather than around it.
Through a contemplative blend of yin and restorative asana, meditation, pranayama, poetry, and politicized socio-ecological awareness, this course supports you in metabolizing collective pain, restoring resilience, and grounding your activism (inner and outer) in compassion, clarity, and reverence.
Rooted in somatic wisdom, Buddhist practices, and the liberatory lineage of yoga, this course speaks directly to Embodied Philosophy’s community: seekers, practitioners, and teachers who understand that personal practice is inseparable from collective transformation.
In this course, you'll learn . . .
... to meet ecological grief with compassion, steadiness, and embodiment.
... practices that transform overwhelm into grounded clarity and resilience.
... somatic tools to process grief and restore inner balance.
... to cultivate loving-kindness, courage, and spaciousness amid global change.
... to reconnect with your body, breath, and the living world.
Why Yoga for Ecological Grief Matters Now
Ecological grief is not a personal failing—it is a relational response to a world we love. When we ignore it, we fragment. When we honor it, we remember our belonging.
This course creates a sacred, trauma-aware container for:
As Bayo Akomolafe reminds us, “The times are urgent; let us slow down.” This course is that slow, wise turning inward—so that we may return outward with clarity.
