Subtle Liberation-Based Teaching
The modern yoga studio inherited a pedagogy it rarely critically examines: the drop-in class as the basic unit, the sixty-minute session as a product, the student as a customer whose commitment is to the self-improvements of postural yoga and rarely the esoteric teachings and liberative truths that have so often defined it. That model has asked almost nothing substantive of its students, while a cursory look at the historical record reveals a deeply substantive ask: eradicate your ignorance, and realize your limited identity as just one small piece of a much larger picture.

Subtle Liberation-Based Teaching (SLBT) is an alternative, drawn from the Non-Dual Śākta-Śaiva tradition and built on the premise that nothing is acquired or attained. Consciousness is already full. A teaching is liberatory not when it installs new information, but when it removes what obscures the knowledge that was always there.
This 100-hour apprenticeship trains teachers, facilitators, therapists, and scholar-practitioners in Sahṛdaya Meditation and the six SLBT competencies across eight monthly immersions, monthly one-on-one mentorship with Jacob Kyle, supervised practicum work, and a year of sustained daily sādhana.
