Prop Shop: Self-Adjustments for Yoga Practitioners & Teachers
In this 4-hour interactive workshop, we’ll explore the vast and creative ways yoga props can be integrated into your practice and teaching — not as crutches, but as powerful allies in cultivating both external alignment and internal awareness.
Far from tools to be used only when we need “help,” props become instruments of proprioception, guiding us in orienting our bodies in space with greater clarity, and refining our interoception — our subtle capacity to sense, feel, and respond to what’s happening within.
Together, we’ll investigate how props can be used to self-adjust, support safe range of motion, enhance structural integrity, and invite a deeper embodiment. You’ll discover how to employ props for self-assist techniques that can mimic the grounding and organizing effect of partner work — without the partner!
This workshop is perfect for yoga practitioners looking to deepen their personal practice, as well as teachers seeking innovative ways to support students’ self-awareness and agency.
Props needed: Two yoga blocks, a yoga strap, a blanket or towel, and access to a wall and floor space (a corner is ideal).
WORKSHOP 1
Body Shop: Physical Adjustments for Yoga Teachers
This 4-hour interactive workshop is designed specifically for yoga teachers looking to refine and expand their skills in offering physical adjustments. Building on the principles explored in Prop Shop, we’ll shift from self-adjustments to the art of skillful touch and manual guidance. Together, we’ll examine how physical adjustments can enhance students’ sense of grounding, alignment, and ease, while supporting their proprioception and interoception in the context of practice.
Through discussion, demonstration, and hands-on practice, participants will learn how to offer adjustments that are clear, safe, and respectful of students’ boundaries. Emphasis will be placed on cultivating sensitivity, precision, and confidence when assisting, as well as understanding when not to adjust and how to offer verbal or prop-based alternatives.
This workshop is ideal for yoga teachers who want to deepen their capacity to serve students through thoughtful, informed, and compassionate physical touch.
Recommended: Participants are encouraged to have a practice partner if possible, or props (blocks, straps, blankets) to simulate adjustment scenarios if your are only able to join us solo.

In these 4-hour workshops, you'll learn . . .
