Course Outline

MODULE 1: You Are Your Own Small Business, Own It!

+

In this module, learn the Big 4 essential areas of your business: strategy, operations, marketing, and finance and the components that make up each - and just how important they are. Definitions and details of strategy, operations, marketing and financials are included in this light hearted foray into the realities of yoga entrepreneurship. We’ll cover the Big 4 and introduce the 15 subtopics which will be covered in depth in the course!

MODULE 2: Strategy Deep Dive

+

Strategy is the overall plan and direction of your business. Many of us are so busy running the business day-to-day that we rarely carve out time to think about where the business is going and why, what we want to build and create, and most importantly, what’s working, and what’s not working in the business so we can pivot and adjust more quickly. Consistent time spent on strategy is important to staying efficient and to running a flexible and resilient business.

MODULE 3: Operations Deep Dive

+

Operations are the essential functions used to run your business — technically speaking the rest of the Big 4 are also part of your operations, but for our purposes operations refers to the people, processes, tools and essential infrastructure required for you to be in business.

MODULE 4 : Marketing Deep Dive

+

Our marketing module includes channels, techniques and strategies used to communicate about your business and the goods and services you sell. Once you have decided on the channels, techniques and strategies, you need to develop a weekly workflow.

Planning: refers to the creation of your marketing plan

Production: refers to the content that needs to be created in order to execute your plan

Distribution: refers to sharing the content across your marketing channels

MODULE 5: Finances Deep Dive

+

In Module 5, learn how your money works in your business including how to manage your incoming monies, outgoing expenses, and how the pricing of your goods & services relates to it all! We will cover:

Analytics: monthly, quarterly and annual cash flow analysis to help you get your head out of the sand and make data based decisions rather than assumptions in your yoga business.

Upkeep: Financial health isn’t magic, it's consistency — which is why practical best practices regarding how to bookkeeping, paying bills and taxes, collections, invoicing are VIP!

MODULE 6: How Do You Spend Your Time as a Small Business Owner?

+

Now that we know what we need to do, let’s figure out how you are actually going to get it all done! We will conduct a thorough weekly workflow assessment, reflect objectively on the findings and revamp your workweek using a series of interactive graphs and exercises. I assure you that the time you need to Master the Big 4 is there — it’s up to you to prioritize and literally make space for it. Learn how in Module 6.

MODULE 8: Creative Solutions for Building a Team to Support Your Business.

+

One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned in the past 15 years of working with over 1000 yoga teachers, studios and brands is the importance of the people on whom your business depends.
