Now On Demand
Embrace, Understand, and Embody the Living Wisdom of Yoga.
Do you think of samādhi as an unachievable, far-flung, future goal? Is renunciation antithetical to a life of worldly pleasure? Are miraculous powers a thing of fairy tales, and do you think finding a Guru is only for the lucky few? These imagined obstacles are the most potent obstacles. In this course, you will cut through doubt and develop the confidence to embody the teachings of yoga and to integrate them into your daily life.
A deep dive into the power of Yoga & Meditation . . .
This course aims to challenge perceptions surrounding samādhi, renunciation, and yogic powers. It questions the belief that achieving samadhi is an unattainable goal and renunciation contradicts a pleasurable life. The course also challenges the notion that miraculous powers and finding a Guru are exclusive to a select few. Through these sessions, participants confront these misconceptions, gaining confidence to embody yoga teachings in their daily lives.
Participants explore yoga postures as a foundation for mind training and a springboard to experience the non-dual state of samādhi. The heightened awareness from yoga postures leads to introversion or "pratyāhāra," focusing attention on the present. The course demonstrates how āsanas allow resonance with the universal vibration, "Spanda," guiding individuals to relax into their true selves and embrace the simplicity of being.

Course Outline
MODULE 1: Demystifying Asana
+
Explore yoga postures as a basis for mind training, and notice ways in which the neural symmetry of hatha yoga provides a springboard for the non-dual experience known as samadhi. The heightened interoceptive awareness of the postures initiates introversion or “pratyahara,” automatically compelling attention to the here and now. We demonstrate how the subtle power of asana removes cognitive bias and attunes our unique instrument for resonance with “Spanda” - universal vibration.
MODULE 2: Demystifying Pranayama
+
The power of yogic pranayama, or breath practices, expands exponentially when we appreciate the significance of the breath as it has been venerated in world wisdom traditions. Learning to regard this substrate of consciousness as sacred sanctifies all perceptions, imbuing ordinary experiences with enlightening teachings. In “Demystifying Pranayama” we practice simple breath techniques that stimulate vagal nerve tone to bestow ease, confidence, resilience and the ability to make rational choices.
MODULE 3: Demystifying Samadhi
+
Demystifying Samadhi: The Unitive State Lets remove imaginary obstacles from our rightful access to that state known by such names as Samadhi, Nirvana, Kingdom of Heaven, Liberation and so many more. Of what use are arguments about how these terms are defined or how they differ, when in truth this is an innate treasure of awareness borne in every human heart without exception. Learn time-tested methods to relax into the deeply restorative simplicity of who you already are.
MODULE 4: Demystifying Detachment and Renunciation
+
The idea of renunciation can be very intimidating and mistakenly construed as a matter of will power and epic self- denial. Ultimately the purpose of detachment is not to abandon the enjoyment of the senses but to firmly renounce the sense of identification with anything which is temporary. In reality such detachment can easily be mastered by exclusive attachment to a suitable object. In Demystifying Detachment and Renunciation we will see how Hatha Yoga, pranayama and other yogic practices facilitate this mental maneuver and open the way to unceasing freedom.
MODULE 5: Demystifying Devotion
+
Demystifying Devotion: the Bhakti Path The greatest accelerant as well as the greatest thrill on the enlightenment path is the ecstasy of love. Besides being good for your health, it can be said that love is the means as well as the goal of spiritual processes. However, the very vagueness and overuse of the word can get in our way. With Demystifying Devotion, break free of cramped conceptual boundaries to recognize the hidden pervasiveness of love in all your actions in the world. We will explore Tantric yogic practices that harness the power of eros to saturate daily life with the brimming ecstasy of union.
MODULE 6: Demystifying Siddhis
+
Demystifying Siddhis: Miraculous Yogic Powers Are accounts of miraculous powers, known as siddhis, merely the imaginings of gullible seekers, or are these potential capacities naturally developing in the course of human evolution? In the mind-training process known as Self realization, the boundary between the ‘ordinary’ and the ‘‘miraculous’ begins to dissolve. In the Yoga Sutra, Patanjali offers an array of cognitive and emotional gestures to create conditions for manifesting desired outcomes. We will experiment with some of the tools for transformation bequeathed by Patanjali and by other realized masters for abundant living in this miraculous world.
MODULE 7: Demystifying the Middle Path
+
Mastery of balance in the context of continuous change is the essence of all yogic practices. Somatic centering then becomes support for entry to the non-dual experience. Experience the access to power which arises when polarities are balanced physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually and which has been recognized in diverse wisdom traditions.
MODULE 8: Demystifying the Guru
+
In the world’s mystical traditions, the Guru is an enlightening, organizing principle and a key mechanism allowing the painful limitations of transient egoic identity to be shed. As a transitional object, the Guru is the chosen form that becomes a threshold to the formless absolute. As such, it is alive as the higher power within every human being. Explore the idea of the Guru and connect with the innate Guru presence in your subtle body.

This course focuses on the explorers of the subtle realms of dream, death, and altered states of consciousness known as “shamans” in indigenous traditions and as “Siddha Adepts” in Buddhist and Hindu Tantra. We will learn how the two traditions have informed one another from time immemorial, examining the ways in which they have engaged and defined spiritual inquiry and how they have translated that inquiry into the social contexts in which they have arisen.
