Following the central orientation of Wisdom School this year, this course will take the form of a philosophical Pilgrimage: an inner and outer journey—into one of the world’s most ancient and legitimate spiritual traditions, a treasure long hidden, awaiting to be re-membered and entered into communion with its living light. We all know or may have heard of Greece’s stunning perennial beauty: through our journey we will get the chance of visiting its ancient lands in a way that reveals their deeper meanings, secrets and Wisdom. Our footsteps will follow a constellation of sites united by sacred geometry: the golden triangle of Athens (Parthenon), the three key sacred sites that were built precise distances in order to formulate an isosceles triangle.

In this 4-week course, we will . . .

What is Hellenism? Origins & The Lineage of Wisdom uniting East and West
We begin not yet in one place, but in a field of emergence—the wider Hellenic world: Greece and Asia Minor. Here, the first awakenings of philosophical and spiritual inquiry arise. The early sages do not yet divide science, philosophy, and mysticism—they speak from a unified vision of Being.

ATHENS (PARTHENON): Connecting to Goddess Athena
We gather at the Parthenon, from where the path unfolds: an initiation into remembrance—of the lineage, of its great figures and mystics. From there, we begin to attune to the central precepts of the teaching—entering not only into knowledge, but into a living transmission.

We will move upwards, from Athens the city of the Goddess, to Delphi: The most cherished spiritual center of the Ancient World devoted to the God of Light, Mystery, Divination and Dialectics: God Apollo.

• Inner oracle: connection of knowledge with mystery, dialectics with sacred intuition

MODULE 4: Embodiment & Arete

Wisdom must be lived. Hercules’ Journey of the Hero, The Spiritual Warrior
Olympia brings philosophy into action, discipline, and embodied excellence. This is the site where Hercules initiated as a celebration of the completion of his 12 Labours – the Hero's Journey. The Olympic Labours (rather than Games) were a quasi-theatrical representation of the labours of Soul on the manifest level of bodily expression. The Athletes celebrated the Athle (= Labours) of the Spiritual Hero. The journey begins from the body and ends there; spiritual awakening is an integration of spirit -mind – body ; the key to this integration is the notion of virtues – arete.
