Embodied Anatomy
Understand the Body as a System of Relationships. . .
NOW ON-DEMAND
Discover How Interconnected Fascia Systems Deepen Your Anatomical Awareness
We often think of the body as a sum of its parts—muscles, bones, joints, and organs, each with its own distinct function. But the body is not a machine made up of separate components. It is an intricate web of relationships, a living system in which no part exists in isolation.
Traditional anatomy gives us facts: you have 26 bones in your foot, over 600 muscles in your body, and a heart that beats around 100,000 times a day. But beyond these facts lie deeper questions: Why do we have arches in our feet? How does one part of the body affect another? How can understanding these connections help us move with greater ease, prevent injury, and cultivate a deep relationship with our physical form?
Without this understanding, we risk moving through life unconsciously—treating pain as a problem to be solved rather than a story to be understood. Tension in the shoulders may not start there. Knee pain may have little to do with the knee itself. Our patterns of movement, posture, and tension are expressions of something larger, shaped by physical and energetic pathways.
We invite you to explore the body in a new way. In this immersive Embodied Anatomy workshop, we will move beyond isolated anatomical facts into a bigger picture view of how the body functions as an interconnected system. Using both Western anatomical principles and newer science of Fascia, we will trace myofascial connections and meridians to better understand how one part of the body influences another.
Through a balance of theory and applied learning, you will learn to see and feel your body in a new light—recognizing not just its structure, but its patterns, relationships, and intelligence. Whether you are a teacher in training or a curious student of yourself, you will leave with a greater ability to interpret the stories held in movement, posture, and tension, both in yourself and in others.
This 4-hour lecture and seminar is a portion of the Embodied Philosophy's Yoga Teacher Training that is available for one-off purchase. This event was held live February 2025 and is now available for on-demand viewing.
